Farm Chicks Cookies! These are our all time favorite cookies in our house. I use to make them for the market all the time…then somehow we got into pies and our poor cookies got left out of the mix. Cast of Characters
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream the shortening, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and the vanilla and beat until well blended. Stir in the flour, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Add oats, nuts, chips and coconut, mix until combined. This is what I do for all my cookies (you may skip and go on to the next step, but if your on the meticulous side of life like me when it comes to cookies and like nice, even round cookies then……. divide dough into thirds, create a log out of each, wrap in wax paper, refrigerate for 30 minutes. Then slice and place on cookie sheets lined with wax paper) Spoon cookie mixture onto greased foil lined cookie sheet. Bake for 10 – 13 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool. Eat with milk or warm green tea. Love the moment. Forget the fat. Enjoy |
